One part number, several tiers
Search our catalogue for the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G in Green and the same Samsung number comes up three times: GH82-30465C/30466C, GH82-30465C/30466C (ASMBLD) and GH82-30465C/30466C (RNW). All three fit the SM-S918, yet they are not the same product. The tag after the code tells you how the screen was made, and that decides how it looks, how long it lasts and which customer you can hand it to.
The tiers, one by one
Original Service Pack
A listing with no tag at all, GH82-33396C/33386C for the Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G in Titanium Yellow or 02353QJJ for the Honor 9X Lite, is an original service pack: the complete display assembly made by or for the phone manufacturer and supplied factory-sealed through the manufacturer's service channel. Everything, including the middle frame where applicable, comes off the factory line, so colour calibration, brightness, touch response and, on Samsung models with an under-display reader, fingerprint recognition behave as on a new phone. Reach for this tier when the job is a warranty or insurance repair, a flagship, or a customer who asks for "the original".
Assembled (ASMBLD)
An ASMBLD screen is an original display module that has been assembled into the frame or chassis, but not through the manufacturer's sealed service-pack channel: the panel is original, the assembled unit is not a factory-sealed service pack. GH82-31231A/31232A (ASMBLD) for the Galaxy A54 5G and GH81-25791A (ASMBLD) for the Galaxy M55 5G are examples. Use it when the customer wants an original panel and the repair does not have to be documented as a factory service part.
Renewed (RNW)
Renewed means an original screen that has been professionally refurbished and tested before it is sold again. Typical lines are GH82-30458A (RNW), the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G in Black, and GH82-26035A/26036A/26039A (RNW), the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G in Phantom Black (no Camera). The quality of the renewal depends on the refurbisher, so inspect the glass edge and the frame before fitting.
RPLCD
RPLCD marks an original screen whose front glass has been replaced; the panel underneath is the original. Two foldable outer-display listings carry it: GH97-29135A (RPLCD), listed as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 outer display with replaced glass, and GH97-30012E (RPLCD), its Galaxy Z Flip 6 counterpart. The untagged GH97-29135A is the plain service pack of the same outer display. If your customer needs to know more about how the glass was replaced, ask sales before you order.
Aftermarket OLED: (OLED), soft and hard
Third-party OLED panels carry one of three tags. SOFT OLED and HARD OLED name the substrate: a hard OLED is built on rigid glass, so it is slightly thicker, a touch wider at the bezel and less tolerant of a drop, while a soft OLED uses a flexible substrate like the factory panel and sits flush on curved edges. A plain (OLED) tag, as on GH82-33637A/33638A/33831A (OLED) for the Galaxy A15 4G/5G, means an aftermarket OLED whose substrate is not specified in the listing. On iPhone lines the panel maker is part of the name, as in SCREEN-14G PLUS (2022) BLACK - SOFT OLED - DD (With IC) or SCREEN-12G PRO MAX (2020) BLACK HARD OLED - DD (With IC). These suit repairs where the customer accepts a non-original panel but still wants OLED contrast.
Incell and TFT
Incell and TFT screens are aftermarket panels that replace an OLED with a backlit LCD whose touch layer is built into the cell. The module is thicker, blacks look grey, peak brightness drops and battery use rises; anything that relies on an OLED, such as always-on display where the phone offers it, is lost. In our catalogue this tag sits only on iPhone 16E and 17-series listings, for example SCREEN-17G PRO MAX (2025) BLACK TFT / INCELL - JK and SCREEN-16E / 17E (2025) BLACK TFT / INCELL - ZY. The use case is narrow: low-value devices, loaner phones or a quick fix to recover data.
CHN ORG
CHN ORG marks an original manufacturer part sourced through the China market channel rather than through the manufacturer's regional service channel. Most of these lines are sub-assemblies: GH82-31312A (CHN ORG), the middle frame for the Galaxy A34 5G, SP-026 Charging Board SM-A155 (A15 4G/5G) (CHN ORG) or AP-005 Charging Board IPH 11 BLACK (CHN ORG). Complete displays carry the tag too, and that is where a buyer needs to read it: G949-01070-00 (CHN ORG) is the Google Pixel 9 Pro 5G screen listed as Chn Original, next to the untagged G949-01070-00, and the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL screens are listed the same way. Choose it when the customer wants an original panel and the manufacturer's regional service packaging has no value to them.
A Grade
A GRADE denotes a graded used original screen: the panel is genuine, but it is not new, and it has been inspected and graded as A quality. It appears on Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, Google Pixel and older iPhone listings, for example 02354HMG Huawei P30 (2019) BLACK LCD ( A Grade Direct from Huawei ), G949-00555-01/G949-00927-00/ G949-01100-00 ( A Grade ) for the Google Pixel 8 5G and SCREEN 8G (2017) / SE (2020) BLACK A GRADE. Choose it for repairs on older models where the customer accepts a used original rather than a new one.
How to tell the tiers apart on the bench
- Packaging: service packs come in the manufacturer's labelled bag (part number, colour, barcode); packaging of the other tiers varies, so never judge a tier by the box alone.
- Frame and adhesive: on ASMBLD or renewed units, check the frame paint, the glass-to-frame gap and the tape under angled light.
- Glass and surface: on RNW, RPLCD and A Grade units, look along the glass edge and across the surface under a lamp for lamination marks, dust or wear before the protective film comes off.
- Black level: show a full black image in a dark room. An OLED stays black; an incell or TFT panel glows grey from the backlight, often unevenly towards the edges.
- Thickness against the frame: lay a straight edge across the fitted screen. Hard OLED and incell panels tend to stand slightly proud; soft OLED and originals sit flush.
- IC status on iPhone lines: (With IC) panels fit without a transfer; (Without IC) service panels need the IC moved over from the old screen, which is what keeps True Tone working. Read that status from the listing before the job starts.
- Fingerprint and always-on display checks apply only to Samsung aftermarket (OLED) listings, where the under-display reader can be tested before the phone is closed. The incell and TFT lines in this catalogue are iPhone models with no fingerprint sensor, so that test tells you nothing there.
