The marketing name on the box is not enough to order a screen. "Galaxy A15" covers a 4G and a 5G model, several colours, European and non-European versions and more than one frame type. The number printed on the flex of the old screen or on the service pack label removes that ambiguity. Here is how to read each brand's numbering.
Samsung: GH82, GH96, GH97 and GH81
Every Samsung service number has the same shape: a family (two letters, two digits), a hyphen, a five-digit sequence and a suffix letter, for example GH82-33396C. The family hints at the part type, the digits identify the assembly and the letter identifies the colour.
| Family | What it usually covers | Examples on this site |
|---|---|---|
| GH82 | Current display assemblies with frame, battery covers, middle frames | GH82-33396C/33386C Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G; GH82-31312A Middle Frame Galaxy A34 5G |
| GH96 | Frameless displays, touch panels, charging boards | GH96-15524A Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G (no Frame); GH96-16630A Charging Board SM-A155/A156/M156 |
| GH97 | Older-generation displays and foldable outer displays | GH97-12611A Galaxy S2; GH97-29135A (RPLCD) Galaxy Z Flip 5 outer |
| GH81 | Entry-level A0x and M-series displays with frame, sub-boards | GH81-17774A Galaxy A20s (with Frame); GH81-25791A (ASMBLD) Galaxy M55 5G |
The suffix letter is the colour
One letter per colour of the same assembly: the Galaxy S24 5G (SM-S921) runs from GH82-33287A in Black through B Gray, C Violet, D Yellow, E Green and F Blue to G Orange. One letter can cover several colours when the visible frame is identical, so GH82-33396A is listed for Titanium Gray, Orange and Violet, GH82-33396B for Titanium Black, Blue and Green and GH82-33396C for Titanium Yellow. Read the letter from the old part, not from the back cover.
E and EU: regional versions
A code followed by E or EU, such as GH97-20904A/20946A E for the Galaxy J7 Core, GH82-22040A/22377A EU for the Galaxy Xcover Pro or GH96-15021A/15021C EU for the Galaxy A73 5G (no Frame), is the European-market version of that assembly, which we list as a separate product. Sometimes the region sits in the model code instead: the Galaxy A03s screen is GH81-21232A for SM-A037F (non-EU code) and GH81-21233A for SM-A037G (EU code).
Several numbers separated by a slash
Samsung often issues more than one service number for the same display, typically when 4G and 5G models share a screen or when an assembly also exists as a GH96 number. We list every number we supply against and use the first in the product title. GH82-24220C/24219C/31328C/31329C covers the Galaxy S20 FE in Cloud Lavender for SM-G780 and SM-G781; GH82-31247A/33783A / GH96-15524A is the frameless Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G under three numbers. If any listed number appears on your old part, the fit is confirmed.
SM model code versus marketing name
The SM code (Settings > About phone, or the SIM tray label) pins the hardware down where the name does not. SM-S928 is the Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G. SM-A155 is the 4G Galaxy A15, SM-A156 the 5G version; the screen number GH82-33637A/33638A/33831A covers both. The letter after the digits (F, G, B, U, N) encodes the regional hardware variant, which is why SM-A037F and SM-A037G sit against different part numbers.
Huawei and Honor: the 0235 series
A Huawei service number is eight characters long, 0235 followed by four letters or digits, and carries no colour suffix: each colour is a separate full code. The Huawei P40 Lite screen is 02353KFU in Midnight Black, 02353KFV in Breathing Crystal and 02353KGA in Green. Dual codes follow the slash rule: 02353FPX/02353DQU is the Huawei P30 Lite New Edition in Midnight Black. Flags in the name matter as much as the code: 0235ANTF, the Honor 400 Lite 5G in Velvet Black, is marked (Without btry). The code is printed on the service bag label and on a sticker on the display flex.
Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco: 5600 codes
Xiaomi codes begin with 5600 and run to twelve or thirteen characters. The last four characters identify the project: N600 is the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G / Poco M6 Pro 4G, N700 the Redmi Note 13 4G, O700 the Redmi Note 14 4G. The middle digits distinguish the variant, usually the colour: 56000100N600 is Green, 56000200N600 Purple and 56000300N600 Tarnish. The same project code also covers other parts of the phone, so 56000500N700 is the Redmi Note 13 charging board, not a fifth display colour; read the product name as well as the code. Regional builds get their own numbers: 560001000O700/560009000O700 is the Global Version of the Redmi Note 14 4G in Black and 56000100O7E00/56000700O7E00 the EU Version. Panel revisions are flagged in the code, 56000J00J200 - 7 VERSION and 56000J00J200 - C VERSION for the Mi 10 / 10 Pro 5G in Gray, and are not interchangeable: read the revision from the old flex.
Apple: SCREEN codes
Apple does not publish display service numbers, so our iPhone listings use a descriptive code: SCREEN, the generation with a G, the variant, the year, the colour, the tier and, where relevant, the panel maker and IC status. SCREEN-13G PRO (2021) BLACK - SERVICE (Without IC) is an original service panel supplied without the touch IC, so the IC is transferred from the old screen. SCREEN-14G PLUS (2022) BLACK - SOFT OLED - DD (With IC) and SCREEN-12G PRO MAX (2020) BLACK HARD OLED - DD (With IC) are aftermarket OLED panels that fit without a transfer; DD, JK, RJ, ZY, GX and TC identify the panel maker. SCREEN-17G PRO MAX (2025) BLACK TFT / INCELL - JK is an aftermarket LCD, an E after the generation means the e-model, as in SCREEN-16E / 17E (2025) BLACK - SOFT OLED - JK, and graded used originals carry a grade: SCREEN 8G (2017) / SE (2020) BLACK A GRADE.
Checklist before you send us a parts list
- Take the complete number from the flex or label, suffix letter and any E or EU marker included, and write the SM, model or project code next to the marketing name.
- State the tier (service pack, ASMBLD, RNW, RPLCD, A Grade, OLED, incell, CHN ORG) and whether the frame must be included.
- If the old part is unreadable, send a photo of the label and the back of the panel through the contact page; we confirm the number before quoting.
